A well trained PMU artist working with right process and techniques shall make sure that discomfort to the client is minimal. At Flying Kitsch our signature techniques are well titrated to different kinds of lip tissue so as to be least invasive, while giving the best of results. As well we use suitable topical gels to make sure that our clients have a comfortable experience throughout. What we know from real client feedback, some of the clients who are more sensitive to pain sensation may experience a mild discomfort at some point during the procedure.

Disclose any relevant medical history including any allergic tendencies, especially any allergies to cosmetics and commonly used numbing agents. You must as well disclose history of cold sores/ herpes anytime in past, around your lips. Discontinue use of Retin A skincare products close to the lip area 2 weeks prior to your procedure. It is suggested to discontinue the use of AHA skincare products close to the lip area 1 week prior to the procedure. Waxing, laser or electrolysis are to be avoided 1 week prior to the procedure. Intake of fish oil & vitamin E is to be avoided at least 3 days before the procedure. Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen or consume any alcohol 24 hours prior to the procedure. Avoid coffee or stimulant energy drinks with caffeine on the morning of your procedure.

Just after the Lip PMU procedure there is a mild to moderate swelling in lips and the color may appear as if wearing a lipstick. Swelling slowly wanes off in next 24-48 hr. The color looks very vibrant on the day of and after the procedure. Around day three-four, the outer layer of lips will softly flake away, and after that the lips appear almost entirely healed, though internal healing process continues. The signature techniques we use at Flying Kitsch ensures that the lips heal properly and with minimal discomfort. Over next few weeks you may see a color fading a bit, which is then perfected upon in the 2nd session 6 weeks later.

At Flying Kitsch we provide our clients with a list of do’s and dont’s to facilitate the best of healing and outcomes. Some of the precautions that you have to take are: Avoid smoking, taking aspirin and consuming alcohol for at least 48 hours post treatment. During the healing, the skin on lip gets flaky forming a thin dry crust from day 2nd to day 4th or so. Resist the urge to “pick” at this crust; as it may affect the outcome. Let it naturally slough off and shed on its own. Avoid lip makeup for 10 days after the procedure and avoid sunlight as much as you can during this tenure. More, on the After care booklet.

Candidates suffering from any medical condition like Heart conditions, Diabetes, High Blood pressure etc. must get approval for the procedure from their guiding physician in written. Acute herpes outbreak, ARV treatment, Post chemotherapy for 6 months, pregnant and breast feeding women, candidates with tendency for keloid, hypertrophic scarring and hyperpigmentation, allergic to anesthetic agents are not suitable candidates for the Lip micropigmentation procedure. The tendency to hyper-pigmentation and as well hypopigmentation is more prevalent in darker skin tones, and this may lead to paradoxical darkening of lips or hypopigmentation. Such candidates may want to balance the pros and cons before taking any decision to go for Lip PMU.
